Within in a short time Winston felt like his world was turned upside down. Mr. Charrington, who has sheltered him form the thought police, along with O’Brien, part of the Brotherhood, had also been against Winston and Julia all along. Winston was shocked as he no longer knew what to believe or what is the truth.
